Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor: Latest Updates as of May 11, 2025 – Indian Armed Forces’ Response to Pahalgam Attack

Operation Sindoor, launched by the Indian Armed Forces in response to the barbaric Pahalgam terror attack of April 22, continues with precision and purpose. As of May 11, 2025, the operation has achieved significant milestones in India’s fight against cross-border terrorism originating from Pakistan.

🔺 Key Objectives of Operation Sindoor

According to Foreign Secretary Shri Vikram Misri, the operation was necessitated due to:

“The savage attack carried out by Pakistani and Pakistan-trained terrorists belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba… murdering 26 people, including one Nepali national, with extreme barbarity.”

The attack aimed to destabilize the growing peace and tourism in Jammu & Kashmir and provoke communal tension. The Indian Government deemed a measured, proportionate, and responsible response essential.

💥 Key Targets Eliminated

According to top military sources during the joint briefing on May 11:

  • Over 100 terrorists neutralized, including operatives tied to the IC-814 hijacking and the Pulwama attack.
  • 35–40 Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed in strikes between May 7 and May 10.
  • The Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters in Bahawalpur was among the most heavily damaged targets.

“We focused on dismantling the terrorist infrastructure and disabling terrorists likely to be sent across to India.” – Indian Armed Forces Representative

🕊️ Ceasefire Declared, But Operations Continue

Despite the ceasefire declaration on May 10, the Armed Forces clarified that:

“Our actions are defensive, targeted, and remain within the framework of deterrence and national security.”

🌍 Global Response

The UN Security Council, on April 25, had stated:

“The need to hold perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and sponsors of this reprehensible act of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice.”

The United States, on May 11, welcomed the ceasefire:

“We commend Prime Ministers Modi and Sharif for choosing the path of peace.”

🛡️ National Unity & Resolve

Foreign Secretary Misri emphasized:

“It is to the credit of the government and the people of India that the designs to provoke communal discord were foiled.”

India’s leadership continues to act firmly yet responsibly in the face of persistent cross-border threats.

✅ Summary of the Situation (as of May 11, 2025):

  • IAF and Armed Forces have conducted precision strikes.
  • Over 100 terrorists neutralized, including high-value targets.
